Events

Canadian History Tour

  • Immerse into Canada’s diverse culture by visiting and understanding Canada’s history and the different cultures and communities that make up Canada.
  • Visit all of the different museums Canada has to offer, from the Ontario Science Centre, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, to the Casa Loma Castle and many other sights and attractions in Toronto!

Exclusive Art Lessons

  • Visit Art Halls and experience art for yourself! Express your passion and artistic abilities while interacting with summer camp students from around the world.
  • Attend lectures and art tutorials from some of Canada’s greatest artists as they share their stories and artistic insight to guide you onto your own artistic path!
  • Make friends from all over the world as you collectively learn and practice various artforms; such as drawing, music and dance! Encourage one another to express yourselves and to be the best in your craft!

Visit the Great Lakes and Its Neighbouring Cities

  • Tour and visit Canada’s liveliest city, Toronto and its major landmarks.
  • Visit picturesque lakeside cities, the magnificent Niagara Falls, the historical sights of Quebec, the wealthy neighbourhood of Oakville, the first capital city of Canada, Kingston, the current capital city of Canada, Ottawa, the beautiful French City of Montreal, and last but not least the beautiful Thousand Islands in the St. Lawrence River.
  • Join us in this extravagant tour around Eastern Canada to see the elegant beauty of Canada’s natural environment and the diverse cultures that shape Canada.

English Class

  • Visit and receive first hand experience of Canada’s local schools through the CICAF Masterclass.
  • Immerse into the community of local students and learn about their way of life here in Canada.
  • Improve your English skills rapidly as you socialize and interact with local students.

Summer Camp Itinerary

Day 1

China to Toronto

  • Board the airplane from Beijing to Toronto and embark this amazing art journey into Canada.
  • Upon arrival, summer camp students will be picked up from the airport and dropped off at the hotel, signed-in and given a schedule for the upcoming days.
  • Lastly, we will conclude the night with a welcome banquet for the summer camp attendees.

Day 2

Summer Camp Opening Ceremony / Visit the CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium

  • Morning : Start off the day with the CICAF Summer Camp Opening Ceremony, shortly after we will board the bus and travel downtown to visit one of the world’s tallest freestanding structures, the CN Tower. We will also participate in the thrilling CN Tower Boardwalk.
  • After CN Tower we will proceed to Ripley’s Aquarium in the heart of Downtown Toronto. During this visit we will receive a tour of this massive sea world, home to endless fish and water-life.

Day 3

Toronto / Mississauga School Tour

  • Full Day School Tour
    • Morning : Students will visit the University of Toronto, Ryerson University and York University.
    • Afternoon: Visit the highly reputable Sheridan College animation program

Day 4

Thousand Islands – Montreal

  • Visit the Thousand Islands in the St. Lawrence River on the Thousand Islands Cruise.
  • Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Thousand Islands while listening to love stories.
  • After lunch, head straight to North America’s “Mini-Paris”, Montreal. Visit Mount Royal, where there is a beautiful view of the St. Lawrence River.
  • Visit the Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal and then proceed to visit the 1976 Olympic Stadium.

Day 5

Old Quebec

  • After breakfast we will be going to Quebec City to visit Old Quebec, where it is rich in historic landmarks and museums.
  • The city is heavily influenced by old European traditions and styles. In Old Quebec we will see ancient forts, horse drawn carriages, monuments and memorials, art galleries, street performers, french architecture etc…
  • You can enjoy the outdoor shopping areas and enjoy a high quality fine dining experience all the while enjoying Canada’s romantic city, nicknamed “Mini-Paris”.
  • We will return back to Montreal in the evening.

Day 6

Ottawa – Kingston

  • After breakfast we will head towards the capital city of Ottawa where we will visit Parliament Hill, the beautiful Ottawa River, the National War Memorial, the Peace Tower, Rideau Hall, the beautiful Rideau Canal and the National Gallery of Canada.
  • Afterwards we will travel to Kingston, another Canadian city with a long history where we will visit the historic Kingston City Hall and Queen’s University.
  • We will return back to Toronto in the evening.

Day 7 to Day 11

CICAF Masterclass / CICAF Award Ceremony Concert Gala

  • CICAF Masterclass opening ceremony. Classes will begin today, Summer Camp students from all over the world and local students will be taught drawing, music and dancing lessons from industry professionals.
  • On August 5, Dance students from the summer camp will participate in the Dance Competition Final.
  • On August 9, the CICAF Award Ceremony Concert Gala will take place at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. This is where Government Officials, famous Canadian Artsists and industry professionals will present awards to the talented young artists who have participated in our 17th Annual Canada International Children’s Art Festival.
  • Award Winners will also have the opportunity to perform on our biggest stage at the Award Ceremony Concert Gala.

Day 12

Visit Toronto City Hall for the CICAF Art Exhibition / Royal Ontario Museum

  • Morning: Visit Toronto City Hall for the CICAF Art Exhibition, we will also take a group picture to save as a memory of this trip! Afterwards we will visit the Distillery District in Downtown Toronto, North America’s biggest Victorian Industrial Area.
  • Afternoon: Proceed to visit the Royal Ontario Museum, a museum of art, world culture and natural history

Day 13

Niagara Falls

  • After breakfast we will travel to Niagara Falls, to visit Niagara on the Lake. For lunch we will dine in at a local restaurant.
  • After lunch we will “Journey Behind the Falls” to get an up close and personal look at Niagara Falls and soak in it’s magnificent beauty.
  • We will then proceed to the outlets to do some quick shopping and then return back to Toronto.
  • We will conclude the night with a dinner at Red Lobster.

Day 14

CICAF Summer Camp Closing Ceremony

  • After breakfast we will pack our bags and check-out of our hotels. Attend the CICAF closing ceremony and receive CICAF souvenirs which will conclude our fun filled trip in Canada, returning home to China.

Day 15

Toronto to China

  • Return back home!

Music Masterclass

  • Together with the instructor, you will perform a music piece.
  • Visit one of Canada’s top music establishments – The Royal Conservatory of Music
  • Visit Canada’s many theatres and experience a live performance

Dance Masterclass

  • Visit the National Ballet of Canada and attend a masterclass
  • Visit Canada’s National Ballet School
  • Chance to participate in the Royal Academy of Dance (Need to register beforehand)

Drawing Masterclass

  • Attend Canada’s famous “Group of Seven” Masterclass Seminars and learn about the “Group of Seven” artists’ perspectives when their art pieces were drawn, through stories and moments shared with the Masterclass speaker.

Award Ceremony Concert Gala

Date: August 9, 2019 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM

Summer Camp Registration Rules

Target Audience

  • Art Schools, Design Schools, Film Schools, Choirs, Orchestras, Chinese Orchestras, Modern Orchestras, Dance Groups, Drama Groups, etc… 
  • Media representatives/reportersThose who are interested in Canadian-Chinese culture and who are willing to make a positive impact to the friendly relations between Canada and China

Signup Process

  • Fill out the registration form: Signup using our online registration form or email us your completed registration forms at summercamp@childrenart.ca along with any additional details and information.
  • Registration fee of $288/person. Registration fees are non refundable, Students who have successfully gone to Canada to participate in the summer camp will be charged for the travel expenses.
  • CICAF organizing committee will review and send out confirmation emails to the approved participants

Event Details

  • CICAF will arrange different festival activities based on the number of summer camp participants.
  • Every group that would like to perform at our different events must contact the CICAF organizing committee days in advance. The organizing committee will arrange performance dates for the performing groups.
  • During the CICAF Summer Camp, the CICAF organizing committee has all the copyrights of the recorded and photographed content during the event.

Additional Information

  • CICAF Summer Camp will follow the route as described in the itinerary as best as possible, however, Itineraries are subject to change or cancellation at any time due to any unforeseen conditions, including but not limited to, adverse weather, traffic problems, etc. Participants will be notified immediately if changes occur.
  • Changes in flight schedules, Visitor Visas, etc… will result in adjustments to the price quotation. The airplane ticket will be charged according to the price at the time of ticket purchase.
  • CICAF can assist in the CICAF Summer Camp participants in individual or group representative Visa procedures. For more details please contact the Summer Camp organizers. Visa Applications can be sent to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou offices.
  • Insurance covers the entire trip, including:
    • Overseas travel insurance for domestic travel agencies, insurance coverage totaled 3 million RMB and accident insurance 300,000 RMB.
    • For travel insurance within Canada, accident insurance covers $!00,000 CAD per person.
