Event: The 17th Canada International Children’s Art Exhibition

Candidate Categories:

A. Fine Arts: (2 dimensions and 3 dimensions)

Anime, calligraphy, cartoons, ceramic and pottery art, Asian seal carving art, greeting cards, handicraft production, illustrations, paintings, posters, prints, sculpture, etc…

B. Video Arts :

Visual arts using digital/analog technology, photography and video (animation photography included).

C. Written Art: (Literature)

Fairy tales, poems, proses, scripts (drama, film etc…), stories

D: Performance Arts:

Ballet, children’s theatre play, dance, drama, musical instruments (in groups or solo), poems, puppetry, song and dance, shadow plays, speech, vocal performances etc…(refer to Music, Dance and Speech Competition Rules & Regulation)

A – Fine Arts Regulations

1. Art works should be flat and the dimensions should all be 14 X 17 inches (35.5 X 43.2 cm.).

Chinese paintings and calligraphy art pieces should be 4 feet (120 cm.).

Photo prints should be 12 X 16 inches (including group of photos and series of photos). For a series of photos and group photos, please indicate the order in which you want them displayed.

Three-dimensional arts: The length, width and height of should not exceed 40 inches (1 metre).

2. Please specify in writing behind each art work:

 (Note: the candidate’s information and name (Name; Age; Mailing Address; Postal Code; Telephone Number; Email Address) must not be displayed in front of the art work. The size of the works cannot be arbitrarily changed. If any category of art doesn’t meet any of the criterias stipulated by the Festival’s regulation, they will be automatically disqualified.

B. Video Arts Regulations

1. Short films should not exceed 3 minutes. The format used for short films should be: MOV format; H264 video decoding; MPG format; MP4 format; and would be greater than or equal to 1080P or 1080I HD Film source forma

2. Upon receiving the short film, the work will be uploaded to the Internet Cloud drive (Google, Baidu Cloud), the Cloud drive link will be in an electronic version. The passwords and related materials will be uploaded on the Organizing Committee wedsite (artwork@childrenart.ca)

C. Written Art

1. Written art length should be about 1500 words (with a brief summary in English).

General Regulations

1. All artwork received will be collected without prejudice of origins (country, region) and will be considered as global art.

2. All work of art shall be done and completed by the artist him/herself within the last 12 months. We do not accept any Mounting/Framing of any kind. Any copying, photocopying, plagiarizing (completing someone else’s work), inspired by an existing work will be disqualified

Registration Rules and Regulations:

1. Candidate has to fill-in the registration form. Please fill out the form in a clear an intelligible writing, then, mail the form with the art work to the organizing committee office.The deadline is May 31st, 2019. Posted packages should be postmarked:

2. Each contestant will be charged a registration fee of $30.00 CAD/person.

The fee will be used to supplement the cost of the current exhibition.

3. All submitted artwork will not be returned to the owners/artists and will become the property of CICAF. The organization has the right to auction, copy, distribute/publish, exhibit any artwork by any means deemed appropriate by CICAF.

4. This year’s Canada International Children’s Art Festival Organizing Committee has expanded into a platform promoting creative collaboration between Canadian and World-renowned artists and educators. These experts are representatives of Canada’s and the World’s vast multicultural society. Our objective is for the art festival to become internationally recognized an acclaimed Their mission is to judge artworks based on the Relativity of the Year’s Theme, Creativity, the Quality of the Artwork.

Awards:

●        Gold Award: 1 for each Category

●        Silver Award: 2 for each Category

●        Bronze Award: 3 for each Category

●        Award for Excellence: Selected Categories in each Age Group

●        Special Mention Awards: At the discretion of the Judges

●        Best Creative Award: At the discretion of the Judges

●        Newcomer’s New Works Award: At the discretion of the Judges

●        Organization Excellency Award:  Given to Institutions, Schools and Teachers, that have recommended 50 Artworks or more

●        The Tutor Excellency Award: Awarded to all instructors whose students have won Gold, Silver and Bronze.

The Award Ceremony is scheduled for August 9th 2019. For concert gala details please click here. Furthermore, some awards will be handed to the recipients by Canadian Parliamentarians and Organizers of the Festival. For each award recipient, they will also receive a Certificate.

The Organizing Committee will edit and publish the “Artwork Collection of the 17th CICAF” Album. This Collection will be released on October 2019. We already accept pre-orders for the Album for the price of $30.00 CAD per book. You will get $5 off if you pay the collection book with the registration fee. If you wish to have the Album mailed to you, please specify and add a fee of $15.00 CAD per book. The payment method will be the same as the Registration Fee payment method.
